Open-source and third-party notices

This early test uses React, React DOM and Scheduler (MIT), chess.js (BSD-2-Clause), generated browser runtime helpers from Vite/Rolldown (MIT), and Stockfish 11 (GPL-3.0-or-later) with Emscripten runtime components. Chess glyphs use the device's installed fonts; no external piece art or font is distributed.

Stockfish 11 candidate source

Stockfish by Tord Romstad, Marco Costalba, Joona Kiiski, Gary Linscott and other contributors. This engine is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3 or, at your option, any later version, without warranty. The licence describes your rights to use, study, modify and redistribute it under its terms.

Engine identity: sf11-candidate-v1. Official tag sf_11, revision c3483fa9a7d7c0ffa9fcc32b467ca844cfb63790. Our browser build contains documented modifications dated September 16, 2026: a persistent UCI command entry point and browser lifecycle handling, plus our GPL-3.0-or-later Worker adapter. Search, evaluation and weakening code are unchanged. It requires no NNUE or other external evaluation data.

This exact archive contains the official source snapshot, our complete modifications and Worker, build instructions/scripts, licences, pinned toolchain references and two input/output manifests. Its historical engineering records predate this release; the archive bytes remain unchanged. Two clean builds on the same host/toolchain matched; independent-machine reproducibility is not claimed.

The application exchanges UCI text with a dedicated Worker. Stockfish is not imported into the React bundle. Both the released owner application and our engine modifications use GPL-3.0-or-later; this is not a professional legal certification. Difficulty labels remain provisional and target-device testing is incomplete.
